1D P 1H P
1NT X ??
Nt Defence running here?

In auctions like:
(2S) 3NT (P) ???
Do we play some sort of enquiry about the style of the 3NT??

Just a reminder of our new agreement: (2S) 4S is real strong both minors.
I reckon it suggests 6/5 and within about two tricks for slam.
Actually Doesnt any more, shows minors unequal

1D : 1H
1NT : 2C*
2D* : 2H?
……2S?
Shows 4+/4+

On a related note:
1D : 1H
1NT : 3X ??

Shows 5/5 GF

Teams Match 9 - Board 8
1H (P) 2C* (2S)
P (4S) ???
……..4NT = C & H or C & D
……..5C suggests H tolerance
……..X = Pen

Giorgio
YES
OVERCALL (PASS) ??
also, doesn't promise fit. can be forcing without, with a suit that can't show @ 1 level.

2H* (P) 4NT is 6 KC??
2H* (4D) 4NT
2H* (any) 4NT

1S (P) 3S (4C)
4H*??

I don't think my 4H sets up a force, only offers you options if the opps keep
bidding.
although I don't think you should bid 4H with like a 6-5 8 count
i think it should suggest that I consider hitting them if I've got some more defensive strength

Canberra match 3 Bd 3
1D (P) 1NT (P)
P (2D) P (P)
X

This actually felt like a spot where maybe double should be pen (by you)
and maybe also by me
on this board we'd pass out 2D, but where are we really going after a t/o double?

Except, that if we have Diamonds, then they must have a Major fit.
Although, we are aiming for a 2M (4-3) or All-In 3C.

OPen 2S or not?
[K9762 95 72 QJ42]
Mike
for the record I would've opened your hand 2S at fav
but don't mind pass at Nil

Snapdragon XX vs XX showing some Spades:
(1C) P (1H) 1S
(X) ??

B4: I wanted to be able to redouble to show spade tolerance, but it would also show diamonds (which i didn't have)
maybe redouble shouldn't be showing diamonds?
maybe we should scrap that altogether, especially by a passed hand where i can't really have diamonds
e.g. bidding 2D would already imply spade tolerance

So, (1S) P (2S) X
Is a scramble spot (3D shows 5).
LEB is only against weak 2s

But in all scramble spots, you also get Heart LEB

Match 6 - Board 18
…….WIll…………Mike
(2H) X (3H) 4H*
(P) 4S (P) 5H*
(P) 5NT (P) 6S

Will [Q976 J63 AKQ AT6]
Mike [AJT432 9 85 KQ95]
Mike: For the record I do think that 4H followed by 5H over 4S is showing a spade slam try with heart control
and direct 5S would be asking for heart control
I took a pretty aggressive view on this hand, because it looked like you likely had 2 or 3 hearts for your T/O double
and hence were more likely to have a stronger hand

Will: But if 4H is not followed by 4S, then what?

P (P) 2H (P)
2NT??
3D??
System on?

Actual auction:
P (P) 2H (P)
2NT* (3Cavi) 3D?? (P)
4H
-1

I meant 2NT just as good raise to 3H (in case you had extras)
Then I thought 3D was natural gametry which is why I accepted

I'm not sure what your 2 NT was intended as?
You could have bid 3D: Drury style.
Over 3C, I thought that we weren't in a force, so if I passed, you might
too. So my only choices seemed to be 3H (competitive/min), or to
improvise with 3D (Last Train?).
I'm not sure if 2 NT should be forcing to 3H if they interfere.
Anyway, you though 3D was Nat, and we played in game.
We had all the Club tricks, but 4 top losers.

Inversion after MINOR after STAYMAN

1NT : 2C
2H : 3minor

3H useful to show 5H?
3S: ART, shows m fit
higher bids show 4S, including bidding 4S.
bid

1NT : 2C
2D : 3minor

Here, bid your better Major, shows 4minor?
Just bid 3NT with no fit for the minor (ignore stoppers)

More Inversions after MAJOR TRANSFER
1NT : 2D
2H : 3C

3H: Shows C fit, denies Heart fit
others, show H fit, or NT probe?
3NT: neither fit (ignore stoppers?)
4C: shows 4C and exactly 3 Hearts? (with 4, prefer to play H
4H: H fit, <4 Clubs

Kickback, King ask, Queens Asks and answers

1C: (1S) 2H
2NT : 3H
4S : 4NT
5C : 5NT ??
